Happy New year friend 😃😃
Are you as excited about the new year as I am?
And with the excitement you have some big expectations right?
I bet you’ve come across some ‘prophesies’ about this year being the year of Great Favor, Divine Manifestation and/or fulfillment of promises.
The reason I put quotes to prophesies is because I’m a bit skeptical about these messages by people ,say on social media, most with a motive to hype others and gain a following. Not necessarily to share the full truth. They tell you to expect certain things, relationships or material things making it seem like those are the only types of blessings.
I stand to be corrected though.
It could truly be the year of fulfillment of promises and what have you. However, this prophesies lead one to have so many expectations especially in particular areas of our lives. You could be expectant of a given relationship, your business to get to a given level and any other expectations.
Now , there’s nothing wrong with being hopeful, optimistic or positive. Hope is one virtue we must all have as Christians. Moreover, there’s nothing impossible to God.
But I do hope that you also keep an open mind.God may have different plans, that may not include your expectations. Maybe He wants you to grow you in a given area before he fulfills your desire. Or maybe he will bring a test first before the gift.
I remember last year I had so many expectations and ended up frustrated when things didn’t go my way. This made the first half of the year to be not- so-good because I believed that God had abandoned me due to my unmet expectations.
Later on, I came to realize that God was blessing me in other areas I didn’t expect but was too blinded by my own desires and plans to see them.
Keeping an open mind will help you see so many blessings in your life, more than you expected. Let God surprise you!
Remember, God loves you so much and He will always be your shield. He’s your ever-loving Father and will never bring anything your way to harm you.
We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 GNBDK
So even if things don’t go your way this year, I hope you keep a joyous attitude knowing that God loves you, He has the best plans for you, and cares for you.
May Psalm 16 be your everyday song.
So keep praying for every one of your desires and seek His guidance in all you do, so that you’ll have peace and joy along your journey. And always remember to add this phrase at the end of each prayer: May your will be done.
